Join us for our biennial Festival of the Moving Image! VIDEOVADA features a programme of screenings, linked to collaborative workshops and participatory events.

2017 Programme
Thursday 15 June
6.00 – 7.00pm: Welcome to the Festival and Bar / Soup
7.00 – 9.00: Screening of Short Films with interval [£3]
WATCH short art based films, selected from an open call to Artists. These films will be used as content for the Video Sculpture created during the Weekend Workshops.
Friday 16 June
12.00 – 6.00pm: Build a Video Sculpture, Collaborative Workshop 1 [£10]*
EXPLORE 3-D Computer Animation and analogue techniques of 8mm and 16mm film loops. This interactive workshop will create content for the video sculpture.
6.00 – 7.30pm: Bar / Soup and chance to explore the evolving video sculpture.
7.30 – 9.00pm: Play Along to a Silent Film [£3]
CREATE an improvised a sound track to a classic Silent Movie! Bring along a non-amplified instrument or noisemaker and join in. Musical ability not essential; just a sense of fun!
Saturday 17 June
12.00 – 6.00pm: Build a Video Sculpture, Collaborative Workshop 2 [£10]*
CREATE a series of projection screens, old TV screens and reflective surfaces, which will form the back drop for Sunday’s gig.
6.00 – 7.30pm: Bar / Soup and a chance to explore the finished video sculpture.
7.30 – 9.00pm: Bring Your Own Analogue Projector [£3 or free with projector]
Dig those old slides and films out of the attic. If you have one bring along a projector (some slide and film projectors will also be available). Project images onto the screens prepared in the afternoons workshop. Selected projections will be used for Sunday’s gig.
Sunday 18 June
12.00 -3.00pm: Build a Video Sculpture, Collaborative Workshop 3 [£5]*
Fine tune the Video Sculpture / projections and EXPLORE how to manipulate the visuals to accompany the band.
3.00 – 5.00pm: Live Gig with Reactive Visuals [£3]
WATCH the video sculpture react to live music, featuring a special set by Voodoo Sci-Fi Blues band Vienna Ditto!

Events are priced individually. Alternatively you can grab a Festival Pass which gives entry to all of the VIDEOVADA events and workshops for only £15! OVADA Associates qualify for a FREE Festival Pass!
Festival Passes and individual evening event tickets are available on the door (cash/cheque only).
