OVADA proudly hosts the sixth end of year show for the Warehouse Art School Continuing Practice Course. With eleven committed and hard working students on the course, this year has been a lively and busy one for all concerned.
What Happened Here
The works on show in the main OVADA space are self-directed individual projects that have developed with the help and guidance of tutors, as well as in peer-to-peer critique sessions. The group has worked with Roger Pugh on a collaborative project based on six degrees of separation. This can be seen in the studio corridor.
The dynamic Warehouse Art School programme has involved workshops, study trips to Birmingham (UK) and Bilbao (Spain), peer to peer presentations and a varied Artist Talks programme. These have put the working methods of practising artists into focus, as well as giving insight and inspiration. This year, in addition to their course work, a group collaborated on a project at the Pitt Rivers. In response to the Intrepid Women exhibition, 6 tea towels designed were created, commercially printed and are for sale in the Pitt Rivers Shop.
