Call for proposals: take over the OVADA Warehouse in Summer 2025!
This is your chance for you to use our warehouse space at low cost and put on a show or event!
Maybe you need a large space to use as a studio? Maybe you want to do a solo or group exhibition?
You may make a proposal that uses the Warehouse for a week - a couple of weeks or just a day

Application Fee
Early bird discount: £15
Standard fee: £20
This is non-refundable and goes towards covering the cost of administration and the review process
If you are an OVADA Associate please get in touch to apply your 10% discount
Takeover Fees
£300 per week if selected
with access from Mon 9am - Sun 9pm
£100 per day if selected
with same day access from 9am - 9pm
You can purchase an application and view the proposal form via our website shop
We cannot consider proposals which do not have a verifiable Paypal transaction ID

Our building has 24 hour access and is well connected to many bus routes and only minutes from Oxford Rail Station
We also have a large off-street loading area with wide doors
The Warehouse has power sockets and Wi-Fi
Communal facilities including access to a messy sink with running water and a kitchen

Take Over Cost: £100 – £300
Payment is required in advance with the amount to be agreed upon between the individual and OVADA
Please note that your place is not guaranteed until the payment has been received
Payments are non-refundable

Take Overs are designed to prioritise events which align with OVADA’s values and make our space more accessible for community-focused and creative projects
We welcome applications from practitioners working in a range of media and at any stage of their careers
OVADA encourages collaborative practice and welcomes applications from collectives wishing to share a Take Over where practical

Take Overs are selected following an application procedure which is assessed by OVADA’s staff
Applicants should demonstrate in their statement:
a commitment to creativity and engagement with a wider community-led context
how a Take Over at OVADA will benefit and develop their work
Please note:
our OVADA Take Overs are specifically for non-commercial and non-ticketed events
we are in a residential area and we are unable to accommodate anything that would be too loud
proposals are accepted at OVADA’s discretion
Applicants are encouraged to send the following information to OVADA in advance of the deadline through the application form which asks for the following;
CV
Statement: a maximum of 500 words about why you are applying for a Take Over at OVADA, how your project meets OVADA’s selection criteria and how you would manage the usage of the Warehouse space
Itinerary: please indicated a rough itinerary of how you intend to use the space (Eg install on Monday, open Tuesday…etc)
Documentation of work: Up to 6 image files (maximum of 1MB each) or a link to a website or online gallery of photos/video/sound work
Where necessary OVADA will shortlist from the applications and invite practitioners for an interview before making a final selection
