This exhibition brings together the images selected by our Expert Panel and by Crowd Vote from our Open Call contest. Photographers were asked to submit images representing the festival theme, Women and Photography: Ways of Seeing and Being Seen.
330 photographers from the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Asia took part, submitting 1,055 entries, with their works attracting 153,332 public votes.
The Expert Panel was: acclaimed British artist Cornelia Parker; Dr Lena Fritsch, the Ashmolean Museum’s Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art; Taous Dahmani, PhD Fellow, the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris; Katy Barron, the Michael Hoppen Gallery photography curator and senior director; Alamy stock photography agency commercial director Alan Capel; and Sian Davey, fine art photographer and humanist psychotherapist.
Global photography platform Photocrowd hosted the competition and invited the Crowd Vote.

Women & Photography: Ways of Seeing and Being Seen celebrates women behind and in front of the lens: photographers, photographic subjects, curators, researchers, and collectors. It features exhibitions, displays, talks, workshops and other events in venues, outdoors and online. The festival brings together local, national and international photography, exemplified by this exhibition.
