Yoga Nidra & Clay Workshop
When?
Sunday 30 March 2025
2pm - 4pm
Where?
Jericho Community Centre
33A Canal St, Oxford OX2 6BQ
What?
Join artist Teresa Paiva at the Jericho Community Centre for Plant Life - Grounding and Rising - a unique workshop combining guided meditation, gentle yoga nidra, and creative exploration with air-dry clay.
This immersive session begins with breathwork (pranayama), gentle movement (asana), and a guided meditation enhanced by sound elements. From this meditative state, participants will transition into a hands-on exploration of clay, using plants as inspiration to capture their unique forms and textures.
Each individual’s clay creation will contribute to a collaborative installation as part of the Red ClayExhibition, reinforcing themes of connection, creativity, and collective healing. Through the meditative practices of yoga nidra and clay work, participants will be invited to share time and space in a process that nurtures both individual reflection and shared experience.
This two-hour workshop is open to all skill levels—no prior yoga or clay experience is needed. Please bring your own yoga mat.
You will be able to collect your clay creations at the end of the Red Clay exhibition on Saturday 5 April.

Meet the Facilitator:
Teresa Paiva is a multidisciplinary artist, art educator and yoga facilitator based in London, UK. Rooted in materiality, transformation, memory and contingency, works manifest primarily across sculpture, installation, performance and sound, delving into quasi-ritualistic processes of collecting, assembling and disassembling.
Her interests lay upon an exploration of art and creativity as catalysts for individual and collective healing, art in the public realm and socially engaged practices, tapping on creative expression as a form of liberation in developing awareness of the multiple nuances and the idiosyncrasies of being human.
Teresa has most recently been offering workshops combining mindfulness , yoga and haptic methods for creative self-exploration and awareness in community, public spaces and galleries , such as most recently 'Swimming & Flowing ( July 2024) at Staffordshirest Gallery ( Peckham) , part of 'Festival of Community'.
